Over the past 3 decades, Richard "Rick" Smith has been a trusted advocate, advisor, and neutral in the Central Florida legal community.
Rick graduated with High Honors from the Florida State University College of Law in 1994. He began his career in Jacksonville handling complex civil litigation, employment law, and appeals, before relocating to Orlando in 1999. Since then, he has dedicated his practice to representing clients throughout Central Florida, most recently serving as senior trial litigator at a prestigious Orlando law firm in its personal injury, employment law, and civil litigation departments.
Having litigated on behalf of both major corporations and individuals, Rick possesses a balanced, strategic perspective on conflict resolution. His extensive courtroom experience compliments his work as a mediator by allowing him to quickly isolate the core issues of a dispute and facilitate sensible, lasting agreements.
As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and County Mediator, Rick conducts private-party and court-ordered mediations. He is also approved to mediate federal cases in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Rick represents select clients in civil litigation and business transactions, leverageing his 30 years of trial and courtroom experience to defend rights and secure optimal results.
